The real estate sector is seeing strong growth with huge innovation potential, and the international tech community is ready for the next step. Together they will shape the industry with innovative projects and collaborations.

The 5th Proptech Innovation Summit was digital again, but this time as a live broadcast from a studio in Hamburg, Germany with many of the speakers on location, and the musical brilliance of the always amazing Anna & Tobi from Neuton.

In these five years, the summit has developed into an established international platform and ecosystem that attracts participants on an international level.

With 180 finalized applicants from 36 countries, there was an amazing number & quality of entries to the PropTech Innovation Award, also organized by Union Investment and GERMANTECH.

In the categories Value Chains, Future Proof Office Space, Re:Create Retail and New Concepts for Urban Living, hosted by big names such as Drees & Sommer and Bosch, the finalists pitched their innovative ideas, products, and services in front of an international jury of experts.

My personal highlight was a fireside chat with Planradar’s CEO Sander van de Rijdt. Planradar was a finalist & 3rd place winner of the 1st PropTech Innovation Award in 2017. In the meantime, they have become the industry standard in digital documentation & communication for construction & real estate projects with over 12.000 clients in 54 countries. and show how this event has grown over the years.
