ACHEMA, the global meeting place for the process industry, takes place every three years on the Frankfurt fairgrounds. Due to the Pandemic, ACHEMA 2021 was moved to April 2022. But instead of just canceling this year’s event, the organizers Dr. Thomas Scheuring and Dr. Björn Mathes decided to create a brand new digital flagship event called “ACHEMA Pulse” to take place in June 2021.

In preparation for this new digital ACHEMA, which is not meant to be a replacement but an addition, the ACHEMA Pulse Media Preview Day offered a chance to the media as well as exhibitors to get a glimpse of what’s to come in June and a sneak peek into the platform and overall setup of the new digital event.

The Media Preview Day covered a broad variety of topics from automation to industrial security, from the pharma industry to the hydrogen economy. International experts and high-profile guests from global companies in the process industry like Siemens and Linde talked about the latest industry trends and developments, providing insights and offering networking opportunities for the media industry.

In addition to moderating the exciting talks and high-quality discussions, I also had the pleasure of giving the audience an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of this premiere and show how many people, how much state-of-the-art technology is involved in realizing such an event. Diligent planning, rigorous daily Corona-Tests, mandatory masks for everyone behind the camera, and keeping a safe distance where possible showed that hosting an engaging, entertaining, and inspiring event is possible even under today’s difficult circumstances.
