Alphabet Road to Sustainability

Alphabet Road to Sustainability

What are the essential topics of our time? The world is changing faster and more dramatically than at any time in history. These changes affect humanity, our society, our economy. Everything is part of this transformation.

There is no single driver, no one topic responsible for these changes. Coinciding developments like climate change, digitization, and the resulting transformation of many industries create a powerful catalyst for global change.

Sustainability has become a central topic for our society and our economy, not least because of the already very real and concrete global effects of climate change. Sustainability is a topic no business can afford to ignore. It shows the willingness of how and to what extent an organization takes responsibility for future generations.

I am therefore always excited to be part of an event like Alphabet’s “Road to Sustainability,” hosted as a hybrid event for a select live audience and a sizable online community.

With four mobility experts, among them Alphabet’s CEO Uwe Hildinger, I had the pleasure of discussing the relevance of sustainable mobility for businesses and society alike. The other panelists were Dr. Thomas Becker, Vice President Sustainability, Mobility BMW Group, Dr. Volker Buttermann, Vice President, Infineon Technologies, and VDA Managing Director Business unit Government & Society, Dr. Kurt-Christian Scheel.

If you missed it, here is a link to the video of the event.
